The Countdown Begins

Nvidia has announced that the first wave of laptops and desktops equipped with RTX Spark will hit the market this October. A diverse range of devices from tech giants like Microsoft, HP, Dell, Asus, and MSI is all set for launch, alongside new offerings from Lenovo and Acer showcasing Nvidia’s first System on Chip (SoC) release in over a decade.

Originally revealed back in June, the flagship RTX Spark model boasts an impressive 6,144 CUDA cores, capable of reaching 1 petaflop of FP4 computation. This powerhouse features a 20-core Grace APU connected through a blazing 600 GB/s NVLink C2C interface, complemented by up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X unified memory. Notably, the full-sized chip is expected to drive high-performance devices like Microsoft’s upcoming Surface Laptop Ultra. Additionally, Nvidia has introduced a more budget-friendly laptop variant, which offers 5,120 CUDA cores and an 18-core CPU.

Nvidia’s Comprehensive Technology Integration

With RTX Spark, Nvidia aims to seamlessly integrate its vast array of technologies—including CUDA, DLSS, G-Sync, and ray tracing—into the mobile computing space. The integrated graphics solution is reported to perform at a level comparable to the RTX 5070 laptop GPU. Sega previously announced that Virtua Fighter Crossroads would also embrace RTX Spark, adding to its roster of supported games.

Exciting New Offerings from Lenovo and Acer

During IFA, Lenovo showcased two new laptops powered by RTX Spark, both equipped with 6,144 CUDA cores. The Yoga Pro 9n features a stunning 16-inch 2.5K OLED display with a variable refresh rate of 48-165Hz, up to 128GB of RAM, and a robust storage capacity of up to 4TB. Meanwhile, the Yoga 9n 2-in-1 focuses on AI-driven tools for content creators, featuring a versatile 360-degree rotating 2.8K OLED display, 64GB of memory, and up to 2TB of storage.

Acer also unveiled a compact RTX Spark mini desktop, designed with the full-feature SoC and supporting 128GB of RAM. Modeled after the popular Mac Mini, this device aims to serve as a workstation centered around AI applications. Specific pricing and release details for the new products from Lenovo and Acer will be announced shortly.
