The motivation behind this shift stems from the necessity to maintain compatibility with older specialized hardware that newer RHEL releases are forsaking.
CERN, revered as a premier research institution in particle physics, deals with enormous volumes of data—from a staggering 49 petabytes of digital files in 2016 to ever-growing databases of scientific experiments.
