Fujifilm’s Updated Instax Mini LiPlay Features an Additional Selfie Camera

Fujifilm has unveiled the Instax mini LiPlay+ instant camera, marking a refresh of the original mini LiPlay from 2019. After six long years, the company has introduced some exciting new features.

Firstly, there is now a second camera on the rear designed for selfies. It boasts a wide-angle lens and complements the existing front-facing camera. Users can now combine images from both cameras to produce unique layered photos—quite a clever addition!

While the overall design remains similar, the rear LCD has been enlarged, making it easier to compose images accurately before printing. A new film type has also launched alongside the camera: Soft Glitter instant film, available in ten-exposure packs. This film features gold accents and soft hues, designed to “bring a calming shimmer” to the frames. Each film pack is priced at approximately $18.

Additionally, there’s a redesigned app packed with new features, including the option to add short audio clips to images. Users can scan a QR code on the printed image to trigger the audio on a smartphone or similar device. The LiPlay+ app provides further editing options for images prior to printing them out with the camera.

The camera is set to be available for purchase by the end of the month, retailing for $235. It comes in blue and beige versions. While the original mini LiPlay didn’t make our list of the best instant cameras, many Fujifilm Instax models did, showcasing the company’s quality offerings.
