In a groundbreaking announcement, the newly minted startup, Also, has introduced its inaugural lineup of electric vehicles, showcasing a range of e-bikes and pedal-assisted quads that promise to redefine urban transportation. Established after Rivian’s spinoff of its micromobility division, Also aims to blend practicality with cutting-edge technology.
The Versatile TM-B E-Bike
Leading the charge is the TM-B e-bike, designed to be a versatile companion for various activities, whether commuting, trail riding, or hauling cargo. With its innovative modular frame, it can easily switch between configurations, accommodating a bench seat or a rear cargo rack with an impressive capacity of 35 kg.
Customization Made Easy: The TM-B simplifies adjustments with a user-friendly design, allowing riders to swap seats without any tools. The bike’s touchscreen display controls a latching mechanism that facilitates these changes seamlessly. Although it comes in just one frame size, Also emphasizes adaptability to fit diverse body types with interchangeable seat options.
Smart Battery Solutions
Equipped with a removable USB-C battery, users can choose between a standard version that offers a 60-mile range and a larger battery capable of reaching 100 miles. Beyond powering the bike, these batteries can also function as portable power banks when not on the road.
Innovative Pedaling Technology
The TM-B’s throttle reaches a top speed of 20 mph, but with pedaling assistance, speeds can go up to 28 mph. Utilizing a unique technology termed “DreamRide,” the bike employs a software-driven pedaling mechanism rather than a traditional mechanical connection. This means that while cycling, your pedaling generates energy for the bike’s battery, rather than merely propelling you forward.
Should the battery run low, a “limp mode” allows riders to pedal and recharge the system, helping them get to safety.
Advanced Features and Control
Also enhances the riding experience further with a 5-inch touchscreen display known as Portal, which supports navigation, music, and call features through a mobile app. An embedded security system automatically locks the bike when the rider steps away, emphasizing safety and convenience.
Pricing and Availability
The TM-B will launch in three configurations, starting with the TM-B Limited Launch Edition at $4,500, set to ship next spring. This premium model supports a maximum range of 100 miles and features special design accents. Following closely will be the TM-B Performance version, scheduled for release in the first half of 2026. Lastly, a base model featuring standard ride modes and a range of 60 miles is expected to retail under $4,000 later in 2026.
Pre-orders for the Limited Launch Edition are underway, while reservations for the other two versions can be made for a minimal deposit of $50. Prospective buyers can also view the bikes at Rivian showrooms starting later this year.
