Yeah, you heard that right. “Hey everyone, we encountered an unexpected issue during our maintenance and we need to extend downtime at least 8 additional hours,” read a morning post that probably made a lot of us groan and glance wistfully at our screens.
But hey, let’s not lose heart. Epic updated us by 4PM, promising that the gears were still turning to get everything back online. They even mentioned something about us being able to pre-download an updated version of v29.00 in about 5 hours. Patience is a virtue, right? “We’re grateful for your patience and can’t wait for everyone to be able to jump in,” they tweeted, and honestly, my excitement just spiked again.
I mean, it’s hard to stay upset when the upcoming season sounds as epic as Myths and Mortals. Greek gods, folks. We’re talking skins for Aphrodite, Medusa, Poseidon, and wielding powers like Zeus’ lightning bolts! Not to mention new areas like Mount Olympus and Hades’ Underworld. Yeah, it’s a bit of a bummer that we have to wait a bit longer, but it sounds like it’s going to be worth it.
