The OBD-II port location may differ based on the vehicle’s manufacturer, make, and model. Here are several typical locations you might find the connector. To ease your search, especially in dimly illuminated areas, having a high-lumen flashlight at hand is advisable.
- Under the steering column.
- To the immediate left or right of the steering column, near the dashboard.
- In the area of the front driver-side footwell, either on the extreme left beside the dead pedal or on the extreme right next to the transmission tunnel.
- Underneath the glove compartment in the front passenger-side footwell.
- Adjacent to the transmission or in the vicinity of the center console.
- Close to the navigation system or entertainment control area.
While these are among the most frequented spots for the OBD-II port, it’s not an exhaustive list. Should you struggle to locate the port in these areas, referring to your vehicle’s owner’s manual should provide a precise location.
