Fortunately, Meta has laid out a way for users to opt out of this image-generation feature without having to switch their accounts to private. To do so, simply navigate to your Instagram settings from your profile picture, click the hamburger menu at the top right, and go to “Sharing and Reuse.”

Once there, you can disable the options labeled “Allow people to reuse your content on Instagram and with AI features on Meta” by toggling off both Posts and Reels. While this change will prevent new AI images from being created with your photos, it’s worth noting that any existing images that have already been generated will still remain in circulation.
