Release Date Announced for Netflix’s Animated “Tomb Raider” Series

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is set to debut on Netflix on October 10. Netflix revealed the release date today along with a new trailer, providing a more detailed glimpse into the series. The storyline continues after the events of the Survivor Trilogy, which featured a younger Lara Croft. According to Netflix’s Tudum, the series will have Lara “forced to confront her true self and decide just what kind of hero she wants to become,” as she pursues a “dangerous and powerful” stolen artifact.

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft was initially announced back in 2021 and is being produced by Legendary Television and Powerhouse Animation, the studio behind the Castlevania anime. It is executive produced and written by Tasha Huo, noted for The Witcher: Blood Origin. Hayley Atwell (Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning) provides the voice for Lara Croft. The Legend of Lara Croft should not be confused with the other Tomb Raider series currently in development for Prime Video, with Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge attached as the writer and executive producer.
