Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos joined other leaders across the country in issuing statements about the shooting at a campaign rally on Saturday in Butler, Penn., for former President Donald Trump.
Trump was injured in the shooting and said he was shot in the upper ear. Two people were killed, including the gunman, according to CNN. The shooting is being investigated as an attempted assassination.
Bezos’ statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, was his first on the platform since June 2023.
Meanwhile, Tesla and SpaceX chief Elon Musk, who owns X, posted an endorsement for Trump after the shooting.
There is simply no place for any type of violence in our society. Sending my best wishes to President Trump for a speedy recovery and to all those impacted by today’s horrific event.
